It is said that on a tranquil night beneath a silver moon, DiaoChan gazed at her reflection in the imperial garden pond. The moon, upon seeing her radiant face, blushed with shame and slipped behind the clouds. Since then, she has been remembered as “the beauty who outshone the moon.”

Beyond her beauty, DiaoChan’s legend tells of courage and intelligence. Through her wit and bravery, she helped bring an end to tyranny, standing as a symbol of justice, sacrifice, and strength beneath her graceful exterior.

Design & Art Direction

Created and printed by King Star Playing Card Company (KSPC), this deck represents the studio’s signature craftsmanship: detailed illustration, gold foiling, and culturally rich symbolism woven into every element.

Each card face features custom art inspired by Han-era clothing, ornate palace patterns, and traditional brushwork. The court cards portray noble characters and historical figures from DiaoChan’s life, while the Aces use symbolic motifs of love, duty, and celestial beauty.

The Jokers depict DiaoChan beneath the moonlight — a serene yet powerful image representing the duality of grace and purpose.

The tuck case is an artwork in itself: layered metallic foiling, deep embossing, and rich colours that evoke moonlight over a palace courtyard. Every detail showcases KSPC’s hallmark production quality and attention to mythic detail.
